I want to have analog clock applet on top of windows -
it should be semy-tranparent and >>>should pass all
mouse events to the underlying window<<<, so I could
place it anywhere on my desktop and do not warry that
I will have to move it when I want to access for
example some menu item in the application I am working
with.
I think this might be really a new word to desktop
applets - to make it possible to show any applet above
all other windows and not to prevent normal work with
other applications - like a sticker on a monitor -
semy-transparency and mouse ignoring can be enough for
that.
As far as I understand both of this features are
related to window manager (kwin), but I think this
features can be most wanted by superkaramba and it
would be better if this request to kwin developers
would come from superkaramba developers.
As far as I know, the "real" transparency will be
available in kde4 (kwin is expected to support some
opengl composite effects):

The "Ignore mouse" feature is left to implement - this
can be done without opengl extensions.
Having this 2 options in window manager would be
enoght to have eye-candy desktop stickers.
What do you think?
