I cd to superkaramba directory, then ./configure
I get the error:

You need to install libz.
For example, on Mandrake you would install the package called "zlib1" and "zlib1-devel" in rpmdrake.
I don't know which distro you use, so I can't tell you the exact name of the package you need to install.
