I've uploaded the files to the local datastore on one of our esxi host. When I try to boot the VM I get an error message stating that the VM could not be powered on. Is there anything else I need to do after uploading the NetDB folder to the esxi datastore and after adding it to the vsphere client inventory?

    Thank you,
    hs

    Hey,

I'm not an expert on ESXi, but I know you have to convert the VMWare Desktop image to an ESX disk image. Here's a guide I found, and I think there's multiple ways to do it:

    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1022152

Hopefully that should do it, but you just need to do a disk image conversion which is built in to ESX.

Cool thanks for the info that worked like a charm! By the way, where can I get the username and pwd for the vm? Thanks again for your help.

    Thank you,

Great, the initial documentation for the VM is here, and there is more in the /home/netdbadmin/ folder on the VM when you login:

    https://sourceforge.net/projects/netdbtracking/files/vmware/
