A few other things took over my life for awhile so I haven't had time to update this project until now. This release pretty much just fixes a bunch of bugs. Check the changelog for the exact details.
In this update the save format has been changed from multiple ini files to a single XML file. Save files will be converted until v1.0. The option to send custom commands when connecting to IRC servers (for identifying with NickServ or anything else, every server is different) is now included.
Because of the frequent updates, an update feature has been added. It checks at startup (and whenever else you want) for a new version and if it finds one, will direct you to open the download link in your browser.... read more
The ability to log into ADC hubs using a password has been added and a bug to do with Unicode characters in usernames has been fixed. See the changelog, it's shorter than usual.
The reason for the lack of changes is that I wanted to get a version out that supports ADC registered accounts. Now that that's done, I'll work on fixing (hopefully only a few) bugs and adding the much-needed IRC scripting feature.
A ton of stuff was added in this update. A few key things:
The GUI has been slightly modified to make it easier to use. No more clicking the new button then editing all the values, the new and update buttons have been merged.
Another big step is the user control panel. It can be used to keep track of blocked users or ones can control the bot. In addition to rules you define for users, this version also dynamically detects OPs and (in ADC) bots and automatically apply rules to them.... read more
This release fixes a bunch of bugs in the IRC portion of the program. As always, see the changelog for more details.
Next release goals:
Separate post rate for PMs
Option to add a custom OP list (per-hub).
Option to add ignored users (per-hub).
Automatically ignore bots in ADC (not possible with NMDC, you'll have to manually add them to the ignored list).
Alpha2 is out. It fixes a bunch of bugs, adds an anti-flood option, and adds a different icon for disabled connections. There's a changelog packaged with the release with more detail in it.
Alpha3 will mostly just include a bunch of bugfixes for the IRC part of the program. The DC part of the program is pretty solid (except for hashing, still no support for ADC password-protected logins).
Please report any bugs you find to me via email or using the project tracker.
Pushed out the first alpha release of NetChatLink. It should behave correctly with DC hubs (both NMDC and ADC) with the exception of ADC password authentication (It just doesn't seem to want to work). The IRC portion of the bot still needs a lot of work though.
Next release will fix a few bugs, add a new icon for disabled hubs, and have a per-connection anti-flood option. After that I'll be fixing up the IRC side of things before adding any more features.
