When using the -c, the socket seems to disconnect
prematurely as the amount of sent data changes with the
same file.

I'm using VB sockets to receive connection. Using lpr
-P to a jetdirect print seems ok with vb but not with
netcat..
Hope this info helps. any ideas?

I'm just wondering if you are closing the connection before
the data was finished sending over the network. Could this
be whats happening in code considering piping data into a
code is faster than passing it over the network....?? just a
thought.

Greetings,
this is a known bug. Please see bug #1079130 "Connection
prematurely closed":
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1079130&group_id=52204&atid=466046
And try the attached patch to see if that fixes your problem:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/download.php?group_id=52204&atid=466046&file_id=111312&aid=1079130
This patch will be included in the next stable release.
Best regards.

Tried the patch, still terminates early.
I just did a simple
netcat-0.7.1 # cat configure | src/netcat -c 10.10.0.69 9100
and I lost around 6KB of bottom end of the file being sent.
sent 316783
recv 311296
