Hello,
version 0.10.2 of netboot has been released. It
contains many bug fixes and a small new utility
called 'nbdbtool' to ease the management of
larger systems databases. If you are using
version 0.10.1 you should update to this new
version because of the many bugs which have
been fixed.

Hello,
just before releasing netboot 0.10.1 while editing a configuration file I inserted a typo which causes makerom to fail. I have updated the netboot 0.10.1 archive file on sourceforge. If you already doenloaded it, please do so again.
I apologize for this inconvenience.

Hello,
today I have released netboot version 0.10.1. It is a bug fix release and does not contain any new features. My special thanks go to all who helped me finding and fixing those bugs.

Hello,
today I have released the final netboot version 0.10. Compared to the last stable version 0.9.8 a whole lot of things have been changed internally. The most important change is the move from the old bin86 tools towards the GNU development tools. It is now possible to compile everything using GNU tools, even on non-x86 systems by using a cross compiler. In addition, many funtional improvements have been implementend like support for netboot DHCP tags, better support for different kinds of system databases etc. This release has been tested on many different host systems and with many different network cards in order to provide better compatibility.... read more
Hello,
today I have released the fifth preview of netboot version 0.10. It is not the final 0.10 version because the mknbi-mgl code is still largely untested. However, I have fixed so many bugs that a new preview became necessary. Especially it is now possible to compile the netboot client binaries using the latest GNU development tools.
Please try out this version and let me know how it works.

Hello,
the fourth (and hopefully last) preview for netboot version
0.10 has been released. You can find it on the download
page of the netboot home page. This preview fixes a lot
of bugs again, and it adds ramdisk compression to mknbi-dos.

Hello,
today I have setup a new mailing list which receives automated messages about netboot CVS commits. This mailing list is named netboot-cvs@lists.sourceforge.net. After subscribing you can't write into the list. Only the sourceforge CVS system can send messages into this list. But you can use it to keep track of modifications to the netboot CVS tree.

Hello,
I've just released the third preview of netboot version 0.10. It fixes many bugs again (especially in the bootrom code
and in makerom), and is quite close to the final 0.10
version.
gero.
Hello,
the first preview release of netboot version 0.10 has been
released. It is not tested very well yet, and mknbi-mgl
definitely doesn't work. The code tested the most is the
new bootrom code. Besides mknbi-mgl, everything should
work pretty stable now. Please see the netboot homt page at
http://netboot.sourceforge.net about how to download this
new version.

Hello,
today I have released version 0.9.8 of netboot.. It contains a new
Flash EPROM loader, and many bug fixes.
gero.
I've just released version 0.9.7 of netboot. This release
contains many changes to mknbi-dos: it is now possible to
boot different DOS variants (including FreeDOS, OpenDOS
and PTS-DOS) and the ramdisk driver has been updated
significantly.

Hello,
I've just released version 0.9.6 of netboot. It does not contain
any new features but a couple of bug fixes in the network
driver interface code. Please upgrade, if you have any problems
with your network card.
gero.
Hello,
today I've released version 0.9.5 of netboot. The major change is that the mknbi-linux boot loader now gets assembled with the GNU assembler instead of the older as86. This step now makes mknbi-linux to assemble on any platform supported by the GNU development tools (as86 only worked on ia32 platforms and was not able to cross-assemble).

Hello,
as an alternative download place for netboot you can now
use
ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/system/boot/ethernet/netboot-0.9.4.tar.gz
I will continue to upload netboot to ibiblio in order to allow
for a third download site.

Hello,
today I've released version 0.9.4 of netboot. It fixes a couple
of bugs in the PXE bootrom interface, and has two new features:
- DOS programs can now be loaded before the network driver
starts running. This allows the network interface to get
initialized, for example to use a PCMCIA card
- makerom now uses MD5 checksums of the network driver
files. This allows to use different options for different versions
of the network driver.... read more
Hello,
today I've released a new version 0.9.3 of
netboot. It contains the fix for a serious bug
in the bootrom interrupt handler code. Because
of this I strongly recommend to upgrade your
bootrom to this new version!
Besides that it has also incorporated some
changes to the disk loader for the bootrom
written by aurin to speed up the disk loading
process.
gero.
Version 0.9.1 of netboot has been released today.
It contains a couple of bug fixes, there are no
new features added.
I've uploaded the latest netboot version into
the sourceforge CVS tree, and changed all the
sources to contain a CVS id.
If you want to help with the netboot project
please send me a mail so that I can add you to
the developers list on sourceforge. You can then
read/write access the CVS repository.
Today I've uploaded the latest project files
from the netboot home page to sourceforge.
The netboot home page on sourceforge is still
under construction, so you might want to use
the old page at: http://www.han.de/~gero/netboot.
