Still pulling my hair out on this problem. No one got any ideas?
Studying the afpd debug log further, it appears to get stuck for
exactly 1 minute when checking if an .AppleDouble/.Parent needs
upgrading. I suspect that after this minute has passed the client, gives
up and disconnects.
I've tried running WireShark on the old server to see what/where/who is
hitting it. But my network analysis skills aren't tremendous, difficult
to tell which packets are suspicious.
I've double checked all /etc/hosts files on all machines for anything
rogue. It's strange it only works when the old server is on, even when
no atalk/avahi daemons are running on it.
Everything else works fine on the new server. All my Mac's can connect
to it via Samba file sharing, or use it's web and mail servers.
