This bug is due to the known limitation in net-snmp 5.4.1 i.e it can only
handle upto 1000 TCP connections.
I see that the patch
http://sourceforge.net/p/net-snmp/code/ci/d24efb04778d870efa2739493949db65f3fdd4f3/
looks the fix for this issue. But then i tried applying it and
tested in a test setup of 2500 tcp connections. snmpd still times out .
Kindly help me in figuring out this.Is there any other which is supposed to fix this issue.
I am using solaris operating system . Sorry i didnt put the Milestone as Solaris.
Luckily I don't have that busy Solaris servers, but anyway ...
Just to verify if this is just a timing issue: Have you tried doing the walk with increased timeout (-t 10 -r 0) to see if that fixes it?
Hi,
Yes, I have tried increasing the rumour option but that doesn't solve the problem.

And, are there any special reason for you to do not try the current 5.7.3 version?
Hi ,
Solaris operating system still has net-snmp 5.4.1 and lot of customers are still using it.So is it possible to fix this in 5.4.1?
Thank you

Does it work with 5.7.3? In that case it should be fixable, but I don't have your environment so I can't tell.
This limitation can be temporarily fixed by increasing the TCP and UDP connection limit.
