#2521 DLPAR and NetSNMP 5.7.2 on AIX 6.1 Caused Crash

We're using Net-SNMP 5.7.2 on AIX 6.1 TL8 SP3 (6100-08-03-1339). During a DLPAR (Dynamic Logical Partitioning) operation, during which 1 CPU and 12GB memory were added to a running AIX system while it remained up. In doing so, we had snmpd crash and drop core.

I was able to load the core into dbx and get a backtrace, which I will attach as a file. If you'd like the whole core, let me know, although most folks report having difficulty loading cores up unless they do so on the exact OS with the exact binaries.

We make DLPAR changes on our systems fairly frequently and on this exact version of both Net-SNMP and AIX and typically we don't see this problem. This might be a one-time occurrence as far as I know.

Not having access to AIX, I never the less expect the attached patch to fix the problem.

    Feedback appreciated:-)

Sorry for the delay in responding, I've got a ticket in my queue to rebuild with this patch on one of our AIX systems. I suspect it's unlikely we will be able to reproduce on-demand, but we will test anyway and it's good to know that you've created the fix.
    Thank you!
