The Future of NetScript

Hi,

some things about the future of NetScript. After having worked with NetScript a few months I have noticed several weak points in the architecture. It all has grown too big and too ugly. Some modules begin to interfere with others, so a redesign seems to be unavoidable.

I hereby annouce NetScript 2, a complete redesigned NetScript, which will be as easy to handle as the old one, but will be more extensible, flexible and reliable.

Planned major changes are:

* base all libraries on Perl:OO-Code
* support for namespaces
* far better XSL-Support
* ability to create functions directly in NetScript so no extra Perl code is necessary.

Some other things i have in mind is a better support for files and resources on the net. At this time all resources you need for your scripts have to be located on the server where the script is located. I had several times, when I found this limit very annoying, so this will change.

Also some tags use different attributes for the same things. This makes it hard to get the idea, of how some tags work.

As you can see, this is quite a lot of work, so it will take some time. I will release fixes for NetScript 1 if I find bugs but all new features will be implemented into NetScript 2. NetScript 1 will not receive new functions, because it all has grown too kludgy.
