Hi,

I have two questions:

1) I just downloaded NeSSi2 (beta 6). I have managed to set up java path and the backend is running on the GUI. However, the database is not. I tried to modified the the connection from the preference but the light is still red in the status bar while the back end is green.????? I installed mysql already!! Do I need to set the any path for MySql server?????

2) For the application, I read in the manual that NeSSi2 can create SYN flooding, UDP flooding ,and Denial of service attacks... I didn;t find these profiles in NeSSi2 beta 6. Where I can find the profiles?

Best Regards,
Moe

    Hi,

    About your questions:

    1) The only think that come to my mind: Did you really start the MySQL server? In the preferences dialog: Did you enter a user name and password that exists in your MySQL server and that has the permissions to create a new database? The default values are pointing to an old read-only database, that has been turned off.

    2) In NeSSi2 there profiles and applications. Profiles contain specific configurations for an application. NeSSi2 is delivered with a set of jar files that contain several applications. Those jar files are located in the folder applications (unless I forgot for some OS to add the folder to the zip file). In NeSSi2 you find those application when you use the wizard to create a new profile. The manual is currently for the old version, we are in the process of updating it, but are not yet finished. For the applications you asked about, we have long backlog of applications that need to be ported to the current version, I will check if can make them available soon.

    Best regards,
    Karsten
