Sadly, we have not gotten around to adding a functionality for deleting old simulations. Our approach is to use different databases for simulation development and conducting actual simulation experiments. Usually, we only keep the database for inducted experiments and completely delete the database used for development.
I am not sure about the simulation ID, but as far as I recall this just a unique random value and has no meaning.
