nefIO has been officially dismissed and will not be supported any longer. It has been replaced by jrawio that covers a broader range of digital RAW formats. Please see www.tidalwave.it/jrawio for further information. This is the latest news item that is posted here.

- Added support for Nikon D1 and D1H.
- Removed dependencies from commons-logging.
- Removed dependencies from non portable JPEG code.
- Code refactoring removed some ad-hoc classes for most camera models.
- Fixed a bug which loaded compressed images 2 stops darker.

(v0.9.2 was not published).

Added support for embedded previews.
NEFMetadata now correctly implements getNativeMetadataFormatName().

Added support for D70 and compressed NEF.

Main added feature is support for D2H (uncompressed files only).

Fixed some bugs and added thumbnail reading capabilities. The package is now quite stable, this is probably the last alpha release.

I need help for testing the software with photos taken with Nikon digital cameras other than the D100. Thanks.
