Here's a pretty simple patch to allow semicolons for statement
termination in the NEdit macro language. This seemed to be
something that most people wanted, and I'm pretty sure this patch
works, but I'd like to have people test it as a patch first because
parser flaws can be tricky to find.

This patch should apply against any reasonably recent version of
NEdit. I'm pretty sure that includes 5.5.

What a short patch! I'll give it a go.

Something else I would like is the \n following (spaces, a
comment and) a binary op, open paren/bracket, or comma to be
ignored, allowing for line continuation without the
backslashes. I haven't looked into this closely, but I think
it would have to involve the tokeniser.

Though I haven't tried it, I think it should really be
committed as a bugfix to the "macros don't accept
    semicolons" bug ;-)

I can't remember how many times I have to removed those
    extra semicolons.

I have no issues with this patch. I haven't written many
macros with semicolons yet, but my trials have given good
results. I would endorse this patch.
