The recently introduced feature of scrollbar in the
pop-up dialog
window with captured shell output seems to be not
completed.

The window accepts mouse clicks but ignores any
keyboard navigation
like PgUp, PgDn, arrows etc.

To reproduce this, open e.g. a file of some 30+ lines,
go to
Preferences->Default Settings->Customize Menus->Shell
Menu, choose
"number lines" (default entry in the Shell menu) and
change
temporarily its command output from "new window" to
"dialog". Now
click Apply and invoke the altered "number lines"
command.

The produced text in the dialog window can be
highlighted and
scrolled up and down by the mouse but not by the
keyboard. This is
inconsistent with the current behaviour of help
windows.

I believe it should be fixed before Nedit 5.3 is
announced.

First, this is *not* a bug report. It could be a feature
    request.
Moreover, there is nothing recently introduced. The
scrollbars are there for a long time (at *least* since
5.1.1). Navigation with keys was always impossible, so far.

It has indeed always been like that. The only thing that was
altered recently is that the vertical scroll bar appears more
easily to prevent it from remaining hidden in certain hard to
detect cases where it should appear.
But I guess you could call it a consistency bug.

I did not pay attention that the dialog window has been
behaving this way, i.e does not accept keystrokes, in
    previous versions.

Indeed, this is not a recently introduced bug and therefore
should not delay the coming release. Please consider my
report as a wish for a future development.

    Sorry for the noise.
