When I have multiple tabs where the windows have
different numbers
of lines, and line numbering is activated, when I
switch to a tab
file that has 1000+ lines the width of the window
increases by one
character. When I go back to a window tab that has
<1000 lines, the
window size remains the same and suddenly I have an 81
column
window instead of an 80 column window.

Solution: Set the width of the line number margin to the
largest line number across all document in the window.

First part, use the largest line number. Smaller documents
still skitter around, this is fixed next.
