I use the RC2 binary on SuSE 9.1 displaying on Exceed
6.2.0.24. Backspace works fine in the text widget, but
does not work in the replace dialog or most other Motif
text fields I checked. It does work in the FSB's text
fields though.

    I see this a lot. Do you have a stray "XmText.translations"
    (or XmTextField) resource that tries to swap backspace
    anywhere?

    Not set by me. What command do I have to call to check?

    No problem running 5.5RC2 on SuSE (SLES) 9 (amd64). Looking
    for a 9.1 around here.

    (You'd run the command "appres" to dump any stray resources.)

    Found some:

    *Text.Translations: #override \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>Delete: delete-next-character
    () \n
    *AxeText.Translations: #override \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>Delete: delete-next-character
    () \n
    *XmText.Translations: #override \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>Delete: delete-next-character
    () \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>osfDelete: delete-next-
    character() \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>osfBackSpace: delete-previous-
    character() \n
    *XmTextField.Translations: #augment \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>osfDelete: delete-next-
    character() \n\ ~Shift ~Meta ~Alt <Key>osfBackSpace: delete-previous-
    character() \n

    Looks good to me, is anything wrong?

    Any more ideas on this?
