A really minor bug with nedit 5.4 :

When you type text into the Nedit window, the cursor blinks
like nothing happened (i.e. when you don't type anything).
This may seem unimportant, but if you're moving the cursor
rapidly with cursor keys, it does not blink. So I consider
this a bug. When you type anything (letters, digits
whatever),
the cursor should not blink.

To show you what I mean, hold the 'a' key and watch the
cursor
blink while the line is filled up. Now move to the
beginning of
the line by pressing and holding down the left cursor
key. The
cursor doesn't blink this time.

Debian bug #60672.

    I'm afraid I wouldn't consider this a bug. I'd say it's more of a feature
    request. I would support this feature, by the way -- I think the cursor
    shouldn't blink during typing.

    This is a nice improvement, bug, whatever you call it.
    (Seems like a bug to me; most other good toolkits do this
    automatically.) Probably for post-5.5.

    One thing to note is that Motif text fields still won't
    benefit from this fix. That probably could be worked
    around, with great effort.

    This part of the patch might be more clearly written as a
    plain ol' if statement, instead of a ?: that throws away the
    result:

    startsBlanked
    ? TextDBlankCursor(textWidget->text.textD)
    : TextDUnblankCursor(textWidget->text.textD);

    True, I think I was in Perl mode when I wrote it.

    Alexandre, should #60672 be closed now or only after the
    change is available in Debian?
