I'm trying to compile nedit CVS -D "27 Jan 2004", with
openmotiff21-2.1.30 in RH 9, with the option -DEDITRES,
and it compiles smooth, but when I try to execute
nedit, it doesn't work, with this output:

Are you using the stock RPM from Redhat CDs? If that's the
case, Redhat didn't ship the devel RPM for openmotif 2.1.30
with Redhat 9. Maybe that where the problem begin. Please
first make sure you are compiling and linking to the correct
    library.

Looks like a mismatch between the compiled and runtime Motif. I bet you're compiling against the OpenMotif 2.1 headers but linking against LessTif. That RPM probably doesn't include the static library. Either get the "devel" RPM, or adjust your makefile to do a dynamic link.
