Why would you need additional tasks to build NDoc? Are you not using Visual Studio? If a batch build is desired, I believe Visual Studio can be used from the command line, using the same solution as when the IDE is opened. This was true back with VS 6.0, I haven't tried it since, but can't imagine MS would remove this functionality. --- Heath Stewart <clu...@ho...> wrote: > It's not clear if you mean you ported the solution > ans project files to "2005" format, you added > support to NDoc for generics, or both. It's not clear if you mean you ported the solution ans project files to = "2005" format, you added support to NDoc for generics, or both. Could = you please elaborate? Regarding the project formats, msbuild.exe that ships with the 2.0 = Framework can build these, so if the group is intent on building with = and requiring the 2.0 runtime then I don't believe that will hurt the = community, but that is a big requirement for our users. That said a coworker of mine has created MSBee, a set of tasks to build = on .NET 1.1 using msbuild.exe. See http://blogs.msdn.com/clichten. Of course we could always switch to NAnt (if we haven't already; it's = been a while since I've had time to look at the source). -----Original Message----- From: "ndo...@li..." = <ndo...@li...> on behalf of "Paul Selormey" = <pa...@to...> Sent: Friday, March 17, 2006 3:48 AM To: "Jeremiah Voris" <jer...@gm...> Cc: "ndo...@li..." = <ndo...@li...>, "ndo...@li..." = <ndo...@li...> Subject: [ndoc-devel] Re: [Ndoc-users] Ndoc for 2005 Right, that is a very good idea. I have a buildable 2005 copy based off of 1.3v13. I spent the better part of the day today doing a simple port and reworking the Solution and project classes to support the new formats. Is there another project everyone has moved to already if not anyone got a suggestion where I can post this thing so we can start testing/hacking on it. Granted it's got more bugs then a new york slum and is probably about as Stable a democracy in Iraq but if no one else has anything it'll be a place to start. If needed we could always branch into a new SourceForge Project but that might be overkill and in the end do more harm to the community then good. Anyone care to comment? Hi, I have successfully updated NDoc (MSDN and MSDN2 Documentors) to work with .Net 2.0, Generics and correct the links to the CLR help. I started with 1.3.1 v13 from http://jonas.lagerblad.com/blog/?p=4 I need to know how to go about releasing the code to SourceForge. I haven't looked at the source control, but this should probably be a separate branch from 1.3.1. Ken __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Hi! I've developed a set of extensibility XSLT templates which require me to use XSLT document() function. Unfortunately current version of NDoc doesn't support it in MSDN documenter (and perhaps others, too), because it doesn't pass the correct resolver to the Transform function. I'm attaching a patch that makes it possible. Simple two-liner. Can someone please commit it and make sure it gets into further releases of NDoc? Regards, Jarek |

Hi there, (I once sent this message to ex-contributor, turned out it was quite a while ago, so I'm resending it here this time.) I heard from some Japanese guys that there is a fork project for NDoc (NDoc-ja). http://sourceforge.jp/projects/ndoc-jp/ Looks like the purpose of that project not localization but globalization. I was curious, so I asked people why they needed Japanese version since extra fork does not sound good. Then someone told me that NDoc MSDN2Documenter never works fine because of   ( ) which does not have a corresponding character in Shift_JIS encoding (it escaped   into 0x3F'?'). So, current ndoc approach does not look fine. That ndoc-ja version has such a hack in Msdn2Documenter.cs like: private void TransformAndWriteResult( string transformName, XsltArgumentList arguments, string filename) { <snip> using (streamWriter = new StreamWriter( File.Open(Path.Combine(workspace.WorkingDirectory, filename), FileMode.Create), currentFileEncoding)) { // // Cannot convert   to Shift_JIS code!!!! // string html = stringWriter.ToString().Replace("\xA0", " "); streamWriter.Write(html); } This problem could be solved by - avoiding that character (I dunno why it is used; would be fine), or - using UTF-8 (dunno if it is OK for MS help format), or - writing custom output-escaping XmlWriter. I'm not familiar with the .chm requirements, so I don't know which will work or not. If first two approaches does not sound fine, I'll hack such XmlWriter for it, so let me know (I'm not a fan of this approach because it just avoids the real problem and also not perfect for performance) but such change would be minimum for current code basis). Hi, In my code i am using assemblies of ESRI. While doing XML commenting for our code i am mentioning ESRI interaces in <seealso> tag but while generating its .chm file using NDOC tool i am not able to reference these interfaces. Please see the code comments below: - /// <summary> /// Indicates whether the bin grid is counter clockwise oriented or not. /// <seealso cref="ESRI.ArcObjects.Core.ICircularArc"/> /// <seealso cref="System.Object"/> /// </summary> Here i am able to reference System.Object as it is part of Microsoft Framework but i am not able to reference ESRI.ArcObjects.Core.ICircularArc. One more thing i like to mention is that i only have DLLs of ESRI and not the XML files. Please suggest that how can i achieve this usig NDOC tool. Thanks, Atul |

Hello,=0D =0D With NDOC v2, is there a way to exclude an entire namespace (fully or partial qualified) from documentation generation? =0D Thanks. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Notice: This e-mail message, together with any attachments, contains information of Symyx Technologies, Inc. or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries that may be confidential, proprietary, copyrighted, privileged and/or protected work product, and is meant solely for the intended recipient. No, I'm not using the Express Edition. Visual Studio for Software Developers. The /doc option works with csc.exe, I was just getting compiler errors if I referenced a web service and the .xml file wasn't being generated in this case. =20 However, I found out how to generate a .dll for my web service using wsdl.exe. So now I am able to reference the .dll with the /r option and successfully get an .xml file. I still get an error message about the absence of a "Main" procedure, but the .xml file is still produced. =20 I think Microsoft needs to clarify their nomenclature in their documentation. The File menu in Visual Studio has "New Project" and "New Website", but the documentation on XML comments doesn't mention this distinction. ________________________________ From: Elly Govers / Gerard van de Ven [mailto:ell...@xt...]=20 Sent: Saturday, February 04, 2006 4:14 PM To: Michael Wasson; ndo...@li... Hi, when is the next version of ndoc going to come out? Really looking forward to the next release, for .NET 1.1 code it really is a thousand times better than doxygen. Thanks |

Hello, I get for the past two days the following error: "Could not get visitors lock: Check whether the web server can create the directory /tmp/persistent/ndoc/wiki/temp and whether it can create files in it." while trying to access the ndoc wiki. Does anyone who can be contacted to fix this? Greetings, John. |

Just to make sure i'm on the same page, Which download is v13 that supports 2.0 code? Is this the one listed that "sort of" supports 2.0 code, or is this something better that i somehow missed the release of recently? Just curious. Thanks! -Tim _____ From: ndo...@li... Subject: [Ndoc-users] .NET Framework Libraries not documenting with NDoc Hello, I downloaded the latest release of NDoc 1.3.1-v13 that supports v2.0 code. I cannot, however, get the standard .NET Framework object libraries to document when outputting to MSDN format with NDoc, such as System.Object, System.String, etc. When I click on them in the help file, they are broken links. When I used the v1.1 and set the "UseNamespaceDocSummaries" property to true, this did work. Is there something else I need to do? Thanks in advance, Harry |

I believe you want to use the VS.NET documenter for v.2 framework compatability.
