Hi, I have found a conflict between the new version of ndiswrapper (0.12) and the Fedora Core 3 kernel (both 2.6.9-1.667smp and 2.6.9-1.681smp). After a few minutes of internet activity using ndiswrapper for my broadcom 1350 wireless card, the system log shows the following error: Dec 13 00:17:38 localhost kernel: bad: scheduling while atomic! Dec 13 00:17:38 localhost kernel: [<022bade1>] schedule+0x2d/0x872 Dec 13 00:17:38 localhost kernel: [<02264e41>] sys_send+0x19/0x1d Dec 13 00:17:38 localhost kernel: [<022654e6>] sys_socketcall+0xd2/0x179 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: Debug: sleeping function called from invalid context at include/asm/semaphore.h:130 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: in_atomic():1[expected: 0], irqs_disabled():0 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<0211df82>] __might_sleep+0x7d/0x87 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<428a3ca7>] xmit_bh+0x1c/0x2e2 [ndiswrapper] Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<0212d25b>] worker_thread+0x168/0x1d5 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<428a3c8b>] xmit_bh+0x0/0x2e2 [ndiswrapper] Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<0211cf21>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xc Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<0211cf21>] default_wake_function+0x0/0xc Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<0212d0f3>] worker_thread+0x0/0x1d5 Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<02130599>] kthread+0x73/0x9b Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<02130526>] kthread+0x0/0x9b Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: [<021041f1>] kernel_thread_helper+0x5/0xb Dec 12 23:09:12 localhost kernel: bad: scheduling while atomic! I uninstalled version 0.12, and installed v. 0.11, and the problem disappeared. However, v. 0.11 does not work for any kernel version after 2.6.9-1.667. This means that I cannot upgrade my kernel until this bug is fixed. Thanks, ~Mike |

I have tried the Linuxant kernels, to no avail, so can not blame the stack size. If it is of relevance, I am using the Broadcom chipset in a Belkin F5D7000 PCI card (version 3). This problem occurs with the Dell driver recommended on the Wiki, as well as with the Belkin driver (with the NetworkType line removed from the c.conf file). I have checked this with the nightly tarball downloaded on the 19th December. The error logs remain roughly the same as Mike posted. Hopefully, Dave. |
