Is there a newer version of the amd64 broadcom driver around with WPA support? I've gone back a while on this list, and the only driver I've seen mentioned is the netbc564 one linked on ubuntuforums.org. Although that seems to work OK, it only supports WEP. dmesg says "ndiswrapper: driver netbc564 (,10/01/2002,3.70.17.5) loaded" when it loads; I figure _something_ must have happened on the broadcom 64-bit support front since 2002. The wireless was powered off. There's a "wireless" toggle button on the laptop that turns the wireless on and off, but I assumed it was software-driven and thereforer wasn't doing anything because the LED didn't light when it was pressed. Everything works fine if you actually turn the wireless ON. Jason |
