My card is a Dell TrueMobile 1300 MPCI Adapter in a
Dell D600. My system is gentoo, and kernel is 2.6.5. I
installed ndiswrapper (0.6 in gentoo), and loaded the
inf file (I downloaded the driver from
and my card's chipset is Broadcom 94306).
After modprobe wlan0, dmesg told me
ndiswrapper version 0.6 loaded
ndiswrapper adding bcmwl5.sys
wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
using driver bcmwl5.sys
then I 'iwlist scan', my router is in the list.
iwconfig wlan0 essid NETGEAR
wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"NETGEAR"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.442GHz Access
Bit Rate:11Mb/s Tx-Power:13 dBm
RTS thr:2347 B Fragment thr:2346 B
Link Quality:100/100 Signal level:-27 dBm
Noise level:-256 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:9511
ESSID is set and the correct access point mac address
is shown. However, when I try to get an IP with
'dhcpcd wlan0', it failed....I really don't know how
to solve it. The card worked well with ndiswrapper
Any clue? Thanks.

Did you do exactly as you were told when you emerged ndiswrapper?
I have the same card and I am using gentoo. I had no trouble doing the
