i am trying to get running my SMC 2802W v.2 WLAN card with ndiswrapper 0.8rc2 under SuSE Linux 9.0. I am using my own kernel 2.4.21-166 with WLAN-support activated (/proc/net/wireless does exist).
By the installation of ndiswrapper i am going step by step as in ndiswrapper INSTALL documentation described. After installing the driver i can see my drivers installed:
mypc~ # ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
After this step ai should load the ndiswarap kernel modul:
mypc~ # modprobe ndiswrapper
By cheking system log messages with 'dmesg' i can see that my ndiswrapper driver have some problems:
mypc~ # dmesg
ndiswrapper version 0.8-rc2 loaded
ndiswrapper adding 2802w.sys
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7.
ndiswrapper: Driver init returned error
What is wrong? Canany body help me to get this WLA N IC running?

Nothing wrong with "spurious interrupt" message.
The real problem is that 0.8-rc2 has problems. You should use 0.8
instead. However, someone on IRC told me that 0.8 doesn't work with
this particular chipset. He claimed that 0.7 works. It would be good
if someone can try the CVS versions between 0.7 and 0.8 and narrow it
down to a patch that breaks it.
