Hello dear experts, I try since hours and days to get my DWL-510, D-Link PCI WLAN Card to run under Suse 9.3 with uname -r: 2.6.11.4-21.2-default, while it does not seem to work. I tried several howtos. I Installed Realtek 8180L drivers from the Realtek Page, altering the inf File to make the driver work. No success. I read that maybe my 64 Bit system is to blame, so I tried the 64 BIT driver from the same page, altering the inf file again, with following result from dmesg, while he was hanging at "modprobe ndiswrapper": ******************** ndiswrapper: unsupported module, tainting kernel. ndiswrapper version 1.2 loaded (preempt=no,smp=no) ndiswrapper: driver netrtw (,) loaded ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [APC1] enabled at IRQ 16 ACPI: PCI interrupt 0000:01:08.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 217 Unable to handle kernel paging request at fffff78000000014 RIP: [<ffffc20000b1e56a>] PGD 0 Oops: 0000 [2] CPU 0 Modules linked in: ndiswrapper p80211 iptable_filter ip_tables subfs udf usbseri al cpufreq_userspace powernow_k8 freq_table thermal processor fan button battery ac ipv6 floppy joydev st sr_mod snd_pcm_oss snd_mixer_oss af_packet evdev usblp usbhid sg edd ehci_hcd ohci_hcd usbcore snd_intel8x0 snd_ac97_codec snd_pcm snd _timer snd i2c_nforce2 soundcore forcedeth i2c_core snd_page_alloc video1394 ohc i1394 raw1394 ieee1394 capability parport_pc lp parport nls_utf8 ntfs dm_mod rei serfs ide_cd cdrom ide_disk sata_nv libata amd74xx ide_core sd_mod scsi_mod Pid: 10798, comm: loadndisdriver Tainted: P U 2.6.11.4-21.2-default RIP: 0010:[<ffffc20000b1e56a>] [<ffffc20000b1e56a>] RSP: 0018:ffff810025af9be0 EFLAGS: 00010282 RAX: 0000000000000001 RBX: ffffc20000ab3000 RCX: ffffc20000ab3000 RDX: 0000000000008009 RSI: ffff81002b8c8c00 RDI: 00000000000f4240 RBP: ffffc20000006000 R08: 0000000000008000 R09: ffffc20000ab3000 R10: 0000000000008009 R11: ffffc20000adda60 R12: 0000000000000000 R13: ffff81002828f818 R14: fffff78000000014 R15: 0000000000000002 FS: 00002aaaaade8b00(0000) GS:ffffffff804c9e80(0000) knlGS:00000000556a5aa0 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 000000008005003b CR2: fffff78000000014 CR3: 00000000074a8000 CR4: 00000000000006e0 Process loadndisdriver (pid: 10798, threadinfo ffff810025af8000, task ffff810023 5b97c0) Stack: 0000000000000002 ffffffff8839358d 0000000000000010 ffffc20000006000 ffffc20000ab3000 ffff810009332000 ffff81002828f818 0000000000000000 00000000000f4240 ffff81002b8c8c00 Call Trace:<ffffffff8011b291>{mp_register_gsi+257} <ffffffff8013825d>{__request_ region+125} <ffffffff8837cc8a>{:ndiswrapper:lin_to_win6+30} <ffffffff8021906a>{pci_re quest_region+202} <ffffffff88378e2b>{:ndiswrapper:miniport_init+107} <ffffffff883674ba>{:ndiswrapper:ndiswrapper_add_pci_device+506} <ffffffff8021a879>{pci_device_probe+121} <ffffffff8027a03d>{driver_probe_ device+77} <ffffffff8027a346>{driver_attach+70} <ffffffff8027a428>{bus_add_driver+15 2} <ffffffff8027ab92>{driver_register+50} <ffffffff8021ab40>{pci_register_dr iver+96} <ffffffff88367c73>{:ndiswrapper:wrapper_ioctl+1139} <ffffffff80136e9f>{current_fs_time+79} <ffffffff8018421e>{do_ioctl+78} <ffffffff8018453c>{vfs_ioctl+780} <ffffffff801733bd>{__fput+253} <ffffffff801845d7>{sys_ioctl+119} <ffffffff8010e6fe>{system_call+126} Code: 49 8b 06 44 8b 83 98 0c 00 00 41 8d 40 44 0f b7 d0 ed 24 40 RIP [<ffffc20000b1e56a>] RSP <ffff810025af9be0> CR2: fffff78000000014 <3>ndiswrapper (wrapper_init:1531): loadndiswrapper failed (9); check system lo g for messages from 'loadndisdriver' ********** I would really appreciate your help. Realtek driver has not been supported for 64-bit yet. Submit debug trace (see Bugs in wiki) so I know where the problem could be. -- Giri |
