Hello ndis devs and users, I know, there are a lot of posts concerning the WUSB54G of Linksys. There are some guys who got it working, I don't :(. I tried all hints and tips I could find, but no success :(. Finally this is my last hope :). Well, I build the latest cvs sources of the ndis driver and load it with `modprobe ndiswrapper`. dmesg says: --- ndiswrapper version 1.0rc1 loaded (preempt=yes, smp=no) ndiswrapper (loader_init:840): Exit ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 2432 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 2346 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 7 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 4 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 1 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 14480 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 256 ndiswrapper (ndis_encode_setting:435): value = 1 ndiswrapper (NdisWriteErrorLogEntry:260): log: C000138A, count: 3 (c0000001) ndiswrapper (ndis_init_one_usb:193): Windows driver couldn't initialize the device (C0010006) wusb54g: probe of 3-2.1:1.0 failed with error -22 usbcore: registered new driver wusb54g ndiswrapper: driver wusb54g (The Cisco-Linksys, LLC.,01/12/2004, 1.0.8.0) added --- The kernel start options include only 'acpi_irq_balance'. I can provide debug output of ndis v0.12 if this helps. I beg all WUSB54G users who got it working, please help me!!! :) thomas |

Hi Hugo, Thanks for your hints. Unfortunately I had no luck :(. I ran 2.6.8, updated to 2.6.9, no change. Shut down everything, pulled the powercord, booted, no change. My usb hub only works with uhci-hcd, so I can't change the usb driver. Replugging doesn't work, too :/. The device works when I plug it in my laptop (Inspiron 8500). There's the same error, but it creates a wlan interface and I can set options like essid, etc. Hm, very funny, any suggestions, hints? They are very appreciated! thomas Am Samstag, den 01.01.2005, 18:58 +0100 schrieb Hugo Visser: > Hi Thomas, > > What kernel are you on? Attached dmesg output of `modprobe ndiswrapper` with ndiswrapper-0.12, debug=2, kernel 2.6.9[-2-k7] (debian-version). Hopefully this helps someone to determine the problem :/. The device works perfectly with ndiswrapper on my laptop, running 2.6.8, and the latest cvs-version of ndiswrapper. Thus, it seems to be a problem with the mainboard (perhaps the onboard usb-hub?). The mainboard is a ASUS A7V333 with an athlon 1500+. thomas PS: I tested the prism54-usb driver already, without much success. It detects and can bring up the device, but it doesn't detects the access point :/. |

Thomas, You probaly have already, but did you check irq allocation? Maybe some conflict? Have you tried plugging the device in another usb port? I'm afraid I'm out of suggestions too. Still a work in progress though -- you can bring the interface up, but not associate with an AP or send / receive packets yet. cheers, Phil -- http://www.kantaka.co.uk/ .oOo. public key: http://www.kantaka.co.uk/gpg.txt |
