Ok, here's my configuration
Dell Inspiron 9100 P4 w/Hyperthreading Laptop
Fedora Core 2 stock Kernel Rev. 2.6.5-1.358smp
Linksys WPC54G Wireless Card Based on Broadcom Corporation BCM94306 chip
Here's my problem:
When I run this configuration my computer freezes/locks up totally. No
way to alt-Fn to any CLI screens but a total lockup. I have to use the
power down in order to get the machine back.
If I run the computer without the wireless card installed the computer
runs fine, no problems, etc.
If I change my grub file to boot the kernel with acpi=off the machine
runs fine and all is well with the world. That's how I'm able to be
online to write this message. Obviously, this is not how I want to run
the machine with one core not operating and no battery status
I see a lot of notes here regarding the problem being in ndiswrapper or
in the kernel/ACPI or both. Any thoughts/ideas here on when this bug
will be identified, squashed and fixed?
