Hello, I am using a Toshiba Tecra 8000. Ndiswrapper compiles and installs fine. I get this error when attempting to load the module (in "dmesg"): ndiswrapper version 0.8 loaded ndiswrapper adding bcmwl5.sys ACPI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 0000:05:00.0 ndiswrapper: Windows driver couldn't initialize the device bcmwl5.sys: probe of 0000:05:00.0 failed with error -22 "lspci -v" produces..... 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge (AGP disabled) (rev 03) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64 Memory at e0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) 00:04.0 VGA compatible controller: Neomagic Corporation NM2200 [MagicGraph 256AV] (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [VGA]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001 Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11 Memory at df000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) Memory at ff800000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M] Memory at ff700000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M] Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 1 00:05.0 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA (rev 02) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 0 00:05.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE (rev 01) (prog-if 80 [Master]) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64 I/O ports at 1000 [size=16] 00:05.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) (prog-if 00 [UHCI]) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11 I/O ports at ffe0 [size=32] 00:05.3 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 02) Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 9 00:09.0 Communication controller: Toshiba America Info Systems FIR Port (rev 23) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001 Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 64, IRQ 11 I/O ports at ff80 00:0b.0 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC97 (rev 05) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001 Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 0, IRQ 255 Memory at 10000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Bus: primary=00, secondary=01, subordinate=04, sec-latency=0 Memory window 0: 10400000-107ff000 (prefetchable) Memory window 1: 10800000-10bff000 I/O window 0: 00004000-000040ff I/O window 1: 00004400-000044ff 16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001 00:0b.1 CardBus bridge: Toshiba America Info Systems ToPIC97 (rev 05) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems: Unknown device 0001 Flags: bus master, slow devsel, latency 0, IRQ 255 Memory at 10001000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Bus: primary=00, secondary=05, subordinate=08, sec-latency=0 Memory window 0: 10c00000-10fff000 (prefetchable) Memory window 1: 11000000-113ff000 I/O window 0: 00004800-000048ff I/O window 1: 00004c00-00004cff 16-bit legacy interface ports at 0001 05:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94306 802.11g (rev 02) Subsystem: Linksys WPC54G Flags: fast devsel Memory at 11000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 2 "lspci -n" produces.... 00:00.0 Class 0600: 8086:7192 (rev 03) 00:04.0 Class 0300: 10c8:0005 (rev 12) 00:05.0 Class 0680: 8086:7110 (rev 02) 00:05.1 Class 0101: 8086:7111 (rev 01) 00:05.2 Class 0c03: 8086:7112 (rev 01) 00:05.3 Class 0680: 8086:7113 (rev 02) 00:09.0 Class 0780: 1179:0701 (rev 23) 00:0b.0 Class 0607: 1179:060f (rev 05) 00:0b.1 Class 0607: 1179:060f (rev 05) 05:00.0 Class 0280: 14e4:4320 (rev 02) I assume this is an ACPI issue. Whilst Pontus' suggestion is of course wise I'm not sure it's going to help. I'm the originator of one of the earlier posts on this - and I still don't have wireless working on my Toshiba with WPC54G. (As a result Linux is out of use in our household at present - pity.) I'm following the posts though so if anyone comes up with a resolution please help out by posting the recipe. I'm going to give it one more shot when I have some spare time in a week or so. The hardware platform is a Sony Vaio PCG-FX190K. I had no known problems building and installing ndiswapper. I have tried loading both the bcmnwl5.sys and bcmwl5a.sys WinXP drivers; each has problems querying the card. The error message I get in dmesg is: ndiswrapper version 0.8 loaded ndiswrapper adding bcmwl5.sys PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002) PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 0000:02:00.0. PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:02:00.0 to 64 ndiswrapper: Windows driver couldn't initialize the device bcmwl5.sys: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -22 It should also be pointed out that the kernel is called with the option "pci=biosirq" in place. Any ideas about solutions, known problems, or further debugging? Thanks. |

Nope - I'm still no further on this I'm afraid, although I have just read sheff 1's posting on the subject of '[Ndiswrapper-general] Linksys WPC54G rev 4. (INPROCOMM 2220)' and thing that might be interesting. Just back from a lovely weekend in Paris - so not had a chance to take a close look at my card to see if it is rev 4.
