I've installed the ndiswrapper from RPM for RedHat 9 (from
http://dag.wieers.com/packages/kernel-module-ndiswrapper/) and I get to the
point where I'm trying to load it via modprobe. The ndiswrapper loads, but
it doesn't detect "wlan0". When I run iwconfig, it gives me the error
"ndiswrapper device wlan0 does not seem to be present".
My kernel version is 2.4.20 (from the 2.4.20-30 rpm). (I notice that the
documentation for 0.6 says that I should be using at least 2.4.23---Does
that mean the rpms won't work, or that someone figured out how to make it
work, or that the INSTALL.txt file is incorrect?)
I tried this both with the latest BCMWL5 driver I downloaded from the
linksys site, as well as the OEM one which is working fine on my W2K
Any ideas what might be happening? Can I get this to work without replacing
my RPM-ed kernel with a kernel compiled from source?
