Recently a wlan network is installed with the siemens gigaset usb =
adapter 108 (atheros 5523, 802.11g) under windows xp. The drivers =
athfmwdl.inf., athfmwdl.sys, ar5523.bin, ar5523.sys. are operational in =
windows xp and are used for ndiswrapper-1.7.
Linux fedora 4
The installation of ndiswrapper-1.7 shows no problems. The installation =
of the just mentionned drivers shows no problems. Ndiswrapper announces =
immediatey that the hardware is present. The alias wlan0-ndiswrapper is =
set in/etc/modprobe.conf. The files in /etc/ndiswrapper are there.=20
Still no network with linux fedora 4.In the atttachment, the kernel =
version, a relevant part of dmesg and lsusb output is given.=20
The hardware browser of fedora 4 finds the usb dongle. With dmesg it is =
found that wlan0 is not up. It is seen that the driver athfmwdl is =
loaded. However some functions seem not to be implemented. The =
interaction between the EHCI Host Controller and ndiswrapper causes the =
usb-dongle to be disconnected.=20
Can anybody tell me what goes wrong ? Is the conclusion that there is at =
the moment no support from ndiswrapper for this device ?
