Hi. I'm trying to upgrade my version of ndiswrapper from 1.23 to 1.28, but all the drivers that I've succesfully used in the past now show as "invalid driver". Unfortunately, the drivers that I'm using are already the latest version, so I can't upgrade the drivers themselves. As an example, one of the ralink-based cards that I use is an Asus Cardbus (PCMCIA) wl-107g which works under Windows XP using either Ralink's own driver or the driver for the Belkin-equivalent. I've used both of these drivers in the past with versions of ndiswrapper up to about 1.23, but 1.27 and 1.28 both return "invalid drivers". I'm aware of the forum post here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=966 This post talks about exactly the same problem, but the solution there is to upgrade to the latest drivers - unfortunately I'm already using the latest drivers! In case anyone can help, the Ralink driver is here: http://www.ralinktech.com/drivers/Windows/IS_AP_STA_6x_D-1.1.3.0_2500_D-3.2.0.0_RU-1.2.6.0_AU_1.1.3.0_092006_0.0.6.0.exe but I've extracted the .inf and .sys files and a gzipped tarball is here: http://www.carbon.eclipse.co.uk/ralink/ralink3.2.0.0.tar.gz Also, the driver for the Belkin-equivalent is available from this web-page: http://www.belkin.com/support/download/downloaddetails.asp?lang=1&download=1575 but again, I've extracted the .inf and .sys file and a gzipped tarball is here: http://www.carbon.eclipse.co.uk/ralink/belkin2270.tar.gz Can anyone tell me whether there's a simple fix I can make to the .inf files (which are only plain text) which would let me use these drivers? I've already looked through the source of the ndiswrapper perl script, but I don't understand perl well enough to work out what's going on... Thanks, Jaime |
