Focus of the problem
The used usb adapter is not in the list of ndiswrapper reported working =
devices. I try the windows drivers with ndiswrapper for getting wireless =
connection in fedora 4. Till now I'm not successful. Some functions =
seem not to be implemented and force ndiswrapper to disconnect the port =
with the usb-adapter. The wlan0 device as alias for ndiswrapper is not =
reported in the dmesg output as should be. The consequency is that I =
cannot configure a wireless network. The device is not there.

Kernel, dmesg, lsusb and drivers information is included in this email. =
Can anybody tell me what to do ? Thanks for helping me for I have =
already tried a lot of possibilities.

USB-adapter
Siemens gigaset usb adapter 108 (atheros 5523, 802.11g). The windows xp =
drivers are athfmwdl.inf., athfmwdl.sys, ar5523.bin, ar5523.sys. and =
will be used in ndiswrapper-1.7.

Linux fedora 4
No problems with installation of ndiswrapper-1.7 and the windows xp =
drivers in fedora 4. Ndiswrapper announces immediatey that the hardware =
is present. The alias wlan0 for ndiswrapper is set in =
/etc/modprobe.conf. The files in /etc/ndiswrapper are there. The lsmod =
command shows ndiswrapper in the list of modules. The hardware browser =
of fedora 4 indicates the usb adapter with Atheros Communication.=20
