Well, it didn't last, so I've experimented a bit more and as far as I can tell the only stable situation is the following: * Boot up without the card in the PCMCIA slot. * modprobe yenta_socket and ds * Insert card * modprobe ndiswrapper As you can imagine, this isn't exactly perfect for unattended boot of a firewall. The worst sequence is: * Boot up without the card and neither ds nor yenta_socket * Insert card => hard system lock The normal (very annoying) sequence is: * Boot up WITH card. * modprobe yenta_socket and ds and ndiswrapper => Card responds, but will refuse to set essid etc. Currently (1.2) it seems that I'm also unable to send out data (but the activity led flashes seemingly correct). I'm pretty sure I had 1.1 fully working for a short period (I even ssh:d in from my other laptop), but I guess I could have confused myself since I also had a wired connection to the same box on a different IP. I'll investigate this further. I guess this might be several issues working together and they may not all be ndiswrapper related. In particular, the "worst" seems never to get to load ndiswrapper before the hang. The "very annoying" one seems to me to be something that might be an issue that perhaps could be addressed in ndiswrapper with some kind of more forceful initialisation? I have tried cardctl eject/insert, but it appeared to make no difference. Any ideas? / Jonas -- Jonas Petersson | XMS Penvision | mailto:Jon...@xm...
