sorry, somehow thunderbird decided to do this fancy wrapping... so i'm posting this again. > Well, it would help if you explain what is the problem with w29n51 > is. Other than that ndiswrapper can't deal with too many conf files, > you don't say what is the problem. But then you say that was resolved: sorry that i did not explain this correctly. the problem is than "iwlist wlan0 scan" gives me "No scan results" and i cannot associate. > Current CVS can deal with as many conf files as necessary, so you > don't need to remove unnecessary conf files. In fact, you can install > any number of drivers you want, and only the ones actually necessary > for the cards present in the system will it load a driver on-demand. > As CVS log says, you need to reinstall Windows drivers with current > CVS (after installing ndiswrapper). tried current cvs (2004-11-11 22:00 GMT) but unfortunately this resulted in a kernel panic, with both drivers. but as far as i can see the problem with the conf files is fixed. i did reinstall the windows drivers. i tried both build 79210 (w22n51) and 90281 (w29n51). > If scanning is the problem, do > iwconfig wlan0 power off > and scan again. If that doesn't work, do > iwpriv wlan0 ndis_reset > and scan again. Then report which works. ok, i retried this with -rc2 (and reinstalling the drivers and deleting unnessecary conffiles). "iwlist wlan0 scan" always gives me "No scan results". i'm attaching the debug output for these command sequence: modprobe ndiswrapper iwlist wlan0 scan iwconfig wlan0 power off iwlist wlan0 scan iwpriv wlan0 ndis_reset iwlist wlan0 scan thanks, your help is much appreciated! michael |
