    Hi!

    I just upgraded to Mandriva LE2005 (2.6.11, wpa_supplicant 0.3.6) from MDK 10.2 (2.6.8, wpa_supplicant 0.3.8). I seem to have to problems after this and I haven't managed to resolve any of them yet.

    Note: I am using the same ndis driver for my BCM4306 after upgrade as I did before.

    1) Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

    [root@t boot]# modprobe -v ndiswrapper
    insmod /lib/modules/2.6.11-6mdk-i686-up-4GB/misc/ndiswrapper.ko
    [root@t boot]# service wpa_supplicant start
    Starting wpa_supplicant: [ OK ]
    [root@t boot]# ifup wlan0
    Error for wireless request "Set Encode" (8B2A) :
    SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.

    2) ndiswrapper claims that ndis driver is not WPA capable. However, I haven't changed my driver and it worked before.

      Seems as if it has something to do with wpa_supplicant (see below). There is a new driver out (R94827 was released a few months ago from Dell), so I'll try that aswell as ndiswrapper 1.2rc1.

      [root@turing boot]# wpa_supplicant -w -d -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -iwlan0 -Dndiswrapper
      Initializing interface 'wlan0' conf '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf' driver 'ndiswrapper'
      Configuration file '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf' -> '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf'
      Reading configuration file '/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf'
      ctrl_interface='/var/run/wpa_supplicant'
      ctrl_interface_group=0
      eapol_version=1
      ap_scan=1
      Priority group 0
      id=0 ssid='geniuses'
      id=1 ssid='SB'
      id=2 ssid='DW'
      id=3 ssid='G604T_WIRELESS'
      Initializing interface (2) 'wlan0'
      EAPOL: SUPP_PAE entering state DISCONNECTED
      EAPOL: KEY_RX entering state NO_KEY_RECEIVE
      EAPOL: SUPP_BE entering state INITIALIZE
      EAP: EAP entering state DISABLED
      EAPOL: External notification - portEnabled=0
      EAPOL: External notification - portValid=0
      Own MAC address: 00:90:4b:23:52:b2
      Failed to enable WPA in the driver.
      rmdir[ctrl_interface]: No such file or directory
