I've just converted my laptop to Suse10 (my first real go at using Linux so I'm a bit of a newbie) and have been trying to get my wireless adapter working with limited results.

I've worked through a range of tutorials the best being:

I can get ndiswrapper installed, can install the drivers and complete the modprobe ndiswrapper. When I head to YaST to set up the network device the system locks up as it trys to configure. Just befor eit locks up the LEDs on the card light up (which I took as a positive sign). If I restart I can see it trying to look for mandatory device wlan0 but it fails after a short period of time.

    I'm using:
    kernel: 2.6.13-15-default
wireless adaptor: DLINK DWL-G630 (Rev E)
    ndiswrapper 1.17
    Dell Inspiron 8100

Has anyone got any ideas what could be causing the lockup and how to solve it?

    Thanks in advance

Make sure you have 4k stacks disabled. If you get kernel crashes, submit system log showing what caused crash, preferably with debug enabled.
