Hello I have tryed almost everything I could imagine and can't get my Encore enlwi-g2 working. Even the rtl8180 that Ubuntu detects and install have a very low signal even very close to the AP.

    Using:
    Ubuntu 9.04 amd 64
    but also tryed on 8.04, 8.10 amd64
    Ndiswrapper 1.99 installed via apt

    lshw:

    *-network
    description: Wireless interface
product: RTL-8185 IEEE 802.11a/b/g Wireless LAN Controller
    vendor: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd.
    physical id: 7
    bus info: pci@0000:01:07.0
    logical name: wmaster0
    version: 20
    serial: 00:18:e7:4b:9a:f5
    width: 32 bits
    clock: 33MHz
capabilities: pm bus_master cap_list logical ethernet physical wireless
    configuration: broadcast=yes driver=rtl8180 ip=192.168.2.102 latency=64 maxlatency=64 mingnt=32 module=rtl8180 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bg

Tryed all windows drivers from the cd(x64,x86 Win/XP/Vista...etc...)
When using with ndiswrapper I get this:

    root@casa-desktop:/opt/Drivers/Windows XP# ndiswrapper -l
    net8185 : driver installed
device (10EC:8185) present (alternate driver: rtl8180)

even after modprobe -r rtl8180 and blacklist

so I modprobe ndiswrapper and nothing happens
lsmod sees ndiswrapper but no wireless interface is seen (no wlan0)

Please I would really apreciatte some help.
    Thanks in advance!
    Fred

Since I am beginer in Linux I thought it was my lack of knowledge, but when making lots of tests I realized the problem.
