F5D7051 Belkin not working

  • turnbui

    Specific error:-
If you get quotprobe of XXXX:YY.ZZ.A failed with error -22quot - I followed FAQ guidance on this with no luck
Mandriva free 2006 using provided kernel and it and ndiswrapper compiled with same version GCC.
Following http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/ 31. and info at 22 and ndiswrapper installation wiki http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/Installation my USB wifi didn't work.
    To start:
    Downloaded F5D7051.exe and extracted files to dir f5d7051. Then unshield both DATA1.CAB & DATA2.CAB to /data1cab & data2cab. Copied /data2cab/2Kdriver/RNDISMPK.sys & usb8023k.sys to /f5d7051 after renaming those alreay in /f5d7051 to RNDISMPK_orig.sys & usb8023k_orig.sys though were same sizes. ndiswrapper -i /f5d7051/BCMRNDIS.INF.
    This created /etc/ndiswrapper/bcmrndis containing
    050D:7051.F.conf, 1799:7051.F.conf, bcmrndis.inf, rndismpk.sys and usb8023k.sys.

    After it didn't work:-
Following FAQ I cleared dmes | syslog | messages | explanations log files. Then make distclean | make DEBUG=2 and make install output is saved in file ndiswrapper_makes_debug. This file includes the LSUSB -v info. Rebooted to get clean logfiles. Have kept these in case needed by someone here.
An interesting point. When I enable my Netgear WG111T on WinXP machine at boot time of Linux the Belkin on the Linux blinks its light ? Very wierd - some sort of interference??
Not sure how to provide dmesg file so I'll edit and post cutdown here. Hope it helps someone to help me - please.

Well maybe not ecstatic - monitor mode isn't supported. But hey, it does connect which is my main goal.

    • You need version 1.17 (see release notes for 1.17).
