Suggestions?

I can't really think of any more features to add so I would love to hear some suggestions! The 'Feature Requests' tracker is probably the best place to put them however I've never used the tracker so hopefully it wont be too difficult!

Release - v0.2.1 (amongst others!)

I've made several releases between since the first release (last time I wrote about a release). These have been of varying version numbers - I've decided it's now onto version 0.2 (was 0.01 and 0.02 previously) but I think it's come on a lot since those. The o.2.1 release 'fixes' icons in firefox. So, yeah, newest features are full title text searching (originally took about 5 minutes to search but now takes about 7 seconds :) + about 30 seconds the first time full search is used to create the QuickIndex) and icons. Hope it works for anyone who downloads!... read more

New Dictionaries

Hello again,

It's been a while since the last news but dont let that fool you into thinking the project is over! I dont know how I didnt see them before but you can download static HTML versions of wikipedia! So much easier than parsing your own :). So, I got them & worked from WikiXML2nDict to make WikiHTML2nDict! Main advantage is it doesnt take weeks to process the XML files but also formulas & timelines now work. Anyway, I think that is done for now so I'll move it to be in the AllNDict solution and development of the XML version will be stopped (I might delete it, Im not sure yet). So, new torrents will be forthcoming!... read more

First Release

Note: Torrents are back again.

Over the past few days I've added a package of all the executables that are part of the project (although, it is better to go from source if you have VS - I have 2008 but I think it will work in 2005, not sure about VB Express). More importantly, I have added torrent for 3 files - dict.ndz (made from the StarDict version of CIDE dictd) and 2 wikipedia files of different sizes. See the release notes for notes about downloading & using the dictionary files.

Well hello Sourceforge...

First news item, oh yeah! Well, nDict is as the description says - an offline Wikipedia reader for Windows Mobile. At least, that's how it started! I have been doing a lot of development on it for the past 2 months already and it has definitely changed from how it started. The main 2 changes from that short description are it's not solely Wikiepdia (renders in HTML using CSS so you can render anything you want) & it's not just for Windows Mobile (runs on .Net CF & desktop). As it's not production qality yet, the best way to use it is to get the SVN tree & go from source (I'm using VS2008, might work in earlier versions I dont know). However, if you're willing to accept the possibility of crashes (theoretically there won't be any but I havent extensively tested it really), you can grab the nDictSuite zip file in the downloads section.... read more
