While the thight release cycle of .NET and ASP.NET technologies lately (ASP.NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5) has set us back and forced us to review a lot of our plans and ideas, I still believe there's a need for a comprehensive tool for deploying web application projects. This is why work on NDeploy continues, even though we haven't released even a single line of code as of yet.
I hope we can soon release more information about where the project's going, maybe even a first XML schema for the project files.... read more
Since last week, I have officially started the development of NDeploy. I have chosen to support both ASP.NET 1.1 (no compiling as this can be done using NAnt, just packaging and preparing for deployment) and ASP.NET 2.0 (using the build-in precompiler).
With the release of the 2.0 version of the .NET framework, lots of things changed in ASP.NET and I have no other choice than to rethink the entire planning for this project. I have therefore extended the planning period. I will post news and documents on the project site as soon as I'm ready.
Thanks for the patience.
