LCDncid 0.9 Released

This LCDncid release is a major rewrite to support the current features of NCID and LCDproc. It was tested on a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian using three different LCD types and two different ways of interfacing to the Raspberry Pi. Previous releases only supported a 40x4 LCD, This release removes that limitation.

LCDncid uses the LCDproc server to display NCID Caller ID and user messages on a LCD. It uses LCD information provided by the LCDproc server to automatically configure itself for the LCD used. It supports LCD's with at least 12 columns and with at least one row (12x1). It works best with a 20x4 LCD. If the LCD has more than 4 rows, only the top 4 rows are used.... read more

NCID 0.86 Released

This NCID (Network Caller ID) release contains a major upgrade to the ncid universal client, two new client modules, one new tool, and a new gateway that allows the server to handle multiple POTS telephone lines. There are also fixes and upgrades to the server, SIP gateway, and tools.

Starting with this release, NCID includes call accounting information in the cidcall.log file. A software program needs to be developed to use it. The call accounting information is only available for the SIP and WhozzCalling (WC) gateways because they provide end-of-call information. Modems and the YAC gateway do not indicate end-of-call. The SDK http://ncid.sourceforge.net/NCID-SDK.pdf was updated and contains the details on the new "END" label in the cidcall.log file.... read more

NCID 0.83 Released

This NCID (Network Caller ID) release adds some fixes, a major enhancement, and some changed client options.

The ncidd server has a fix that outputs the current phone line identification associated with the modem instead of the default for the first call after startup.

NCID 0.82 Released

This NCID (Network Caller ID) release fixes a major problem that prevents it reading modem output using OSX. The system poll function in OSX appears broken. Polling the modem causes it to disconnect with a error code. A local poll function is now used in place of the OSX system poll.

The server now sends all outgoing and call hangup to the clients.

A fix is provided to terminate the server when a unrecoverable error code is received from the system poll. The server was hanging on the error.... read more
