    Matt Short - 2005-07-04

    Processed config file: /usr/local/etc/ncidd.conf
    CID logfile: /var/log/cidcall.log
    Modem logfile: /var/log/cidmodem.log
    Modem port opened: /dev/cu.modem
    Modem lock file: /var/lock/LCK..cu.modem
    Modem control signals enabled
    No modem found: /dev/cu.modem

When I start ncidd with verbose logging, this is what I get. I can send and receive faxes, I can dial other modems, but I can't seem to get ncidd to find the modem. Any suggestions?

Could you post the output for Verbose Level 3? Not enouth information in verbose level 1.

There is a fix for the type of problem you are having. It will be in the next release, but if you want to try it out, send me some email and I will send it to you.

I'm running into a similar issue under 10.4.8. I get the following error:
      Started: 04/09/2007 22:58
      Server: ncidd 0.65
      Processed config file: /usr/local/etc/ncid/ncidd.conf
Configured to send 'cidlog' to clients.
Configured to send 'cidinfo' to clients.
      Processed alias file: /usr/local/etc/ncid/ncidd.alias
      Verbose level: 1
      No modem found: /dev/cu.modem
      Terminated: 04/09/2007 22:58

      Any ideas?

      Thanks,

      Tim
