In the past i was able to install NCIDandroid via the playstore on my androidtv devices as well as push via play store web (sheild and forgetv). I recently picked up a new Mi box S and attempted to install NCIDandroid only to find out that all of my androidTV devices are now listed as incompatible.
Can this app be made available to AndroidTV devices
Current devices i own
shield (previously installed)
forgetv (previously installed)
mi box s (new device unavailable to install)

I think the Play Store has odd behaviour where if I don't publish screen shots from the android TV devices, then it won't let you download it for them. I didn't have any, so I didn't publish any.
I have now put up images from Chris's version, so hopefully you can now fetch it.
If this works for you, please send me some newer screen shots. If it doesn't, there is another TV banner that I haven't supplied.

The play store responded to me with a note to say that they want "at least one unaltered high resolution (1280x800 minimum) screen capture" which is a bit of a problem because I don't have an android TV device to do it on.
Can you install from an apk and provide screen shots? (After I find the apk and make it available to you ...)

The Play store responded with another rejection note. It seems they have more requirements, some of them along the lines of wanting the configuration menu to work when the user only has a remote control. Sensible sounding stuff that the app hasn't done before.
This is going to take a while ...
I have placed a copy of the signed apk at https://ncid-utils.ca/ncidandroid34-1.apk
for anyone would like to download the apk directly to their device and install from there. I expect it will be necessary to go to Settings -> Security -> Unknown sources-> Allow ... to allow the install. (Change it back after.)

The NCID Android 0.2.0.2 apk appears to work on an Android 8.0.0 TV box. There is still no access to the settings after the initial startup. (-- another thig to work on)

Ha, there was also another checkbox for Android TV -- now it's in some review queue and will opefully be available to you soon.
Ed,
Thanks for the response. I have checked and its still not available. I will keep checking back and let you know if it pops up.
FYI: the email address in the google play store doesnt seem to be valid. i tried that first before opening this thread.

The apk can be found at https://sourceforge.net/projects/ncid/files/ncidandroid/
NCID android is available for the TV in the Play store, it's currently at version 0.2.0.9
