NAVolution GIS Framework News

Tonight (Dec 1st - Dec 2nd of 2005) the first draft of the future NAVolution GIS Framework was added to CVS.
Even though it's happened today, the work on the project started a few months ago.
The first version has very limited functionality, but the main purpose is to form the skeleton and show the concept.
Along with the sources there are Eclipse project files that I recommend to use rather, than creating custom ones.
There's also a demo application that shows map display and simple controls. Currently it reads ESRI shapefiles format for polygons and poly lines. If there are files of that format they can be opened in the application.
I hope it's a beginning of a good platform for many future GIS applications.
