    Hello All,

I have an after-market stereo installed in my car and has a built-in navigation with WinCE 6.0. I am currently using MapFactor but not really liking it so I decided to try NAVeGIS. I downloaded "NAVeGIS.ZIP" and extracted it to my sdcard. Set my gps setting to "/sdcard/NAVeGIS.exe " but nothing happens when I start. I am using the MapFactor maps as they are OSM maps but the format of the maps is as follows: "map_name_osm.mca". Could this be the problem? Thanks

    Hi Rudy,
This is a perfect car infotainment system!
I think that Windows CE.Net 6.0 supports only x86 architecture, therefore, you could try to install the files from https://sourceforge.net/projects/navegis/files/Storage%20Card/NAVeGIS_x86.zip/download into your storage card.
Regarding maps, you could select and download the map files you would need, from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/, and unzip them inside /Maps directory.

I hope that I've been of some help.

Hello EDC Greece and thank you for the reply.

So I've tried both the ARM and X86 version with all possible combinations of NETCF version (ARMV4, AMRV4I and SH4) with no luck. I did not try any of the MIPSII and MIPSIV libraries though. Just to be clear, I have to extract both main program zip file(s) and libraries in the same folder, correct? !

FYI. Been doing some more research on my infotainment system and they said it has ARM11 processor. I also played with the main .exe file setting. If I set it to navegis.exe, nothing happens. If i change it to cgautil.exe, a window pops up : .NET Compact Framework - Microsoft (R) . Net Compact Framework (3.5.7238.0, 2.0.7045.0]

    Thanks again - Rudy

    Hello EDC Greece,

Thanks for uploading and happy to tell you that this time, IT WORKED! :-) - Now it's time to play with it. It seem like I need to adjust the sensitivity of the touch screen. I also would like to move the keyboard at the bottom of the screen if I can ( will play around with the windows.ini). Also, I will try if I can shift the main window to the right (keyboard and main window split my screen as it has room) - See image.

    Hello EDC Greece,

I used the GPS when I went for lunch today and noticed three (3) things.

1.) I start the program, put my gear in reverse which activates my backup camera. Once I put it back in first gear, the map doesn't re-appear on the screen. I had to restart the program.

2.) Graphics and Audio: When I'm on the move, the map screen is not smooth but jumps instead. Also, I'm not sure if the route path is supposed to be highlighted or in different color or not. No audio comes out.

3.) Debug Error: As I was driving, a screen popped up: (Buttons in Chinese characters)

    "Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library
    Debug Assertion Failed!
    Program: \Storagecard\NAVeGIS.exe
    File: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\ce\include\vector
    Line: 779
    Expression: vector out of range

On a good note. I was able to move the windows to the side, except the keyboard. (It's just a personal preference)

    Hello,
ARMV4I binaries have to be updated with proper windows messages handling. The same applies for memory allocation. Hopefully, all issues would be rectified in the next release.
