The project moved to GIT. CVS has been disabled.
`nauta3' branch represents legacy program series,
`hiems' is the newer program series.
Usual command to get sources are:
#(to get the repository)
git clone git://nauta.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/nauta
cd nauta
#(to get local copies of fetched remote branches)
git checkout -b hiems origin/hiems
git checkout -b nauta3 origin/nauta3
(to synchronize your local copy with remote repository)
git pull origin
The previously released files set is very unstable due to a pair of stupid bugs. this release corrects them to make the programme be able to run at least.
We think no user will want to prefer the unpatched versions.
Several bugfixes and small improvements.
The authors still don't know if the programme
is usable at all, because there were no evidences
of someone's usage nauta. it would be very nice
if we had some reports of any attempts.
The most nasty, the most formidable, the most mysterious bug (the famous 15th time "Overlocked chunk" error) has been fixed. this bug has been living in the cvs since the second commit (she certainly couldn't crawl there during the first one, for the first commit consisted of the GPL only). this bug had been waiting patiently for eleven months before she became active. she succeeded to lead PalmOS into a false path, and even almighty POSE could harm nothing to her.... read more
The main features of this release is a new form for geocaching and updated license (GPLv3).
Some bugs are fixed (some new included).
The GNU GPL v3 has been published. it is almost twice as long an much more difficult to read than the previous version. one of minor advantages is that the postal address of FSF has been replaced with their's URLs.
nauta is going to switch the new version of the license before the nauta's next release.
Naturally, the licence for the nauta's old versions will remain "v2 or later".
After a significant delay, the next release comes. nauta has got DGPS support.
Third release published. There are some minor changes to preferences form, new time-controlling form and an internal improvement.
Another pre-release came. now Bluetooth is fully supported, though it lacks stability. there is also some code for SDIO and MMC storage, but it does not work --- the files are not reopened at nauta's start (it is just corrected in CVS; will be OK in the next release).
Well, there are two new modules: SiRF parser and track form. the latter is the first form that distinguishes the incoming data between the sources.
This project has a homepage now. actually, it essentially reproduces the latest release description.
The files are available to download now. nauta has been neither tested nor documented properly yet, but he works somehow.
The first release seems to be near as never. minimum set of libraries has mostly been developped.
The main things to do before the pre-release:
1. Add DGPS capability to the main application (some parsers are to be able to send some special portions of their output to the sources defined). it is desirable to support this feature with the prefereneces form, too.
2. Write an NMEA parser. at this time it is almost written.... read more
The project has reached it's beta stage. the programme is now usable and can even be useful. no human docs and no releases yet.
01 Aug. 2005: the first year of this project life is accomplishing. It has no release yet.
But I think, some will come within two or three months.
