Hi,
I thought I'd update naps2 and ran into a problem with the betas regarding (just) my canoscan 4400F. I can only scan once. After that the twain window of the scanner won't open. Same thing when I create or edit a profile. The canoscan is only listed in the twain device list for the first time round. Only after I close and reopen naps2 will it (temporarily) reappear in the list.
I run windows 10 and my flatbed scanner is as mentioned a canoscan 4400F. There is no windows 10 driver, just 8.1 but this works fine with all my programs and also with naps2 v 5.8.2.
Thanks for your effort. A really nice program.
Hi,
Can you attach your errorlog.txt file here? You can find it in the "%APPDATA%\NAPS2" folder. For example, if your user name is Jon, it would be in "C:\Users\Jon\AppData\Roaming\NAPS2".
Also, does closing+reopening NAPS2 consistently and instantly fix the issue? Does waiting a minute between scans help?
Sorry Ben, for the late response. There is no errorlog. Definitely and nowhere. I searched with "everything" from voidtools. This is no reason for a missing errorlog but I should have pointed out that I use the portable build.
* Yes, closing+reopening consistently and instantly fixes the issue (for exactly one scan)
* No, waiting does not help.
Thank you for looking into this. It's strange, isn't it? For flatbed scans I use v 5.8.2 and drag n' drop into 6.X.

Hi,
Sorry I've been slow to address this. One more thing I'd appreciate you trying:
Does it start to work again? Also, how many tasks did you end?
Hi Ben,
Nothing changes. There were two processes which I deleted. (But sometimes
there is only one.). And there is definitely no errorlog.txt. The search
program"Everything" would show it to me.
Best regards,
Rudy
PS
Sorry for the delay. I had read your mail, postponed my answer and then
forgot it altogether.

Also, if it does exist, the errorlog.txt file would be in the Data folder of the portable build.
Are you using a 64-bit or 32-bit version of Windows?
Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit
2x Intel XEON E5520
BTW in Beta4 I can create the profile but when I scan I get "Can't find
device" (or sth like that in german) immediately.
Best regards and in case it's the last mail before Christmas: Seasons
greetings, have a nice holiday
Rudy
