I understand that cropping is a recent feature? It (and rotate) have been very useful to me :-)

It would be great if there was a user option for "AUTO-CROP" (initially set by default) which if set would on entry to the cropping dialog preset the handles to the calculated cropping positions, if the user doesn't like the position they can adjust further or revert and do their own.

It seems to me that this should be relatively easy as the background should be the same color, I'm guessing that there will be some variation but perhaps the amount of variation allowed could also be a configurable value.

I'd also like a "smart-crop" button next to revert. My suggested "AUTO-CROP" option could be to automatically perform this on entry.

Anyway hopefully this will be done, I do a hell of a lot of cropping (some after rotating)...

I do have an issue with the current cropping and that is that its choppy and hard to acurratlry position and tell that its correct from teh image but where that is really important I do multiple crops with each being easier and faster (NAPS handles it better, I have fast CPUs and HEAPS of RAM).

    I was just thinking that there would be no reason an "AUTO-ROTATE" feature couldn't work the same way which would allow for auto rotation and cropping (in that order of course).

    Hello! I wish an Auto-rotate function will appear! It would be great if I only press once "Scan"-button, and NAPS will do following automaticly:
    - scan doc;
    - AUTOROTATE image;
    - read it (OCR);
    - autosave it as pdf-file with readable layer (renames it by mask YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS).
    Now everything works perfect, if document has portrait mode.
    But if document is in landscape mode, it saves it as pdf and text is absolutely senseless!:(

    Another wish - to allow user to choose, what buttons to leave on the pannel.
    Thanks!

    While I love NAPS2, it would be even better with Auto-Crop.

    But as I suspect this is a rather complicated feature to program, there are a couple of simpler improvements that would help in the meantime:

    -set the crop window to open in full screen. As it is, every time I open the crop window I have to drag the corner to enlarge it to make it easier to see the crop margins.

    -change from 4 independent sliders to a box which would allow the user to grab a corner to adjust two sides at once.

    Thanks.

    i for one would not be happy with full screen but remembering the last size and position is something nearly all windows or dialogs should do.

    Auto-crop would be so useful indeed! Insert any paper format and have NAPS2 recognize the paper format automatically. I work with continuous scanning, just inserting paper invoices one after the other. The sizes are all different. So now I have to set it to A4 and then re-crop, because I the rest of the A4, exceeding the format of the inserted document is black all around.

    With auto-crop, I would just keep on going and not even having to push the scan button between feeding different invoices into the scanner. (I do this with Readiris now)
