My principal use of NAPS2 is to convert 'image' PDF to searchable PDF through import. After upgrading from 6.x.x to 7.3.1, I lost that functionality (or apparently lost it). After rolling back to 6.1.2 it's working again. I'm using Win 11 64bit on an Asus laptop with 16Gb mem. If there is any testing you would like me to do, I would be happy to do that for you. Thank you.

NAPS2 currently won't run OCR on a page if it already has text. That's my guess as to what the issue is. If not, you can upload a sample PDF with the problem and I can have a look.
Here is the non-searchable PDF that 7.3.1 won't run OCR on, but v 6.x will.
Thanks,
d

It OCRs fine with 7.3.1 for me (attached). Do it show as enabled when you open the OCR window? You can also check if there are any error logs.
I'm sorry. Just saw this response from days ago. I'll check for error logs
(but will need to reinstall first), and I do know that the OCR block was
indeed checked.
I'll let you know.

I just reinstalled v7 (after uninstalling v6) and you are correct. It now
works fine. All I can think of is that initially I installed v7 on top of
v6 and that may have caused the problem. All appears to work just fine now,
and I'm sorry to have bothered you. I appreciate the response.
Best regards,

Yeah, that might be it if you installed from the MSI over top the EXE installer, as that can create conflicts.
Again, sorry to have bothered you. I'll simply insure that in the future I
totally remove a prior version before installing the update. I appreciate
the response.
best regards,
d
