    Hello all,

    I have three machines using NAPS2 (v8.1.4.0) and I would like to thank the developers for making such a great app! Thank you.

    I am unable to discover a Dell c2765dnf on the network from just one machine. All devices are on the same subnet. There are two MacOS machines (Sequoia 15.5) and one Fedora Linux (42) machine. The machine that doesn't see the scanner is one of the Macs.

    What I've done so far:

    Uninstall and reinstall application.
    Uninstall and reinstall printer/scanner from Mac System Settings-> Printers&Scanners.
    Enable debug (nothing logged)
    Examined errorlog.txt
    Reviewed the forums and support site.

    Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    If you're using "Apple Driver" you'll need to set up the scanner in your system settings under "Printers & Scanners". You can also try selecting "ESCL Driver" which doesn't need setup.

    If that still doesn't work you can try checking NAPS2 has permission to access the network. Under system settings, "Privacy & Security", "Local Network", make sure NAPS2 is enabled.

    Thank Ben,

    Both of the Macs have their printers configured the same. The troubled Mac that doesn't see the Dell scanner does see the Epson scanner. Also, verified that NAPS2 has network permissions. ✅

    Does the "Apple Driver" section populate from the local machine's configuration? I did reset the printing subsystem and reinstall the printer, but that didn't help. It feels like it just can't enumerate the scanner.

    Is there a guide to setting up the ESCL Driver? I tried pointing it at each open port the Dell is offering, with no luck.

    Thanks!

    Yes, Apple Driver should generally display the same set of devices that are available in the built-in Image Capture application.

    I have noticed myself that newer versions of macOS seem to be more unreliable for detecting scanners, I'm not sure why.

    If you want to try setting up a "Manual IP" ESCL configuration, you could try enabling Debug Logging on the working computer and scan with ESCL there. Then you should be able to find the info you need in the logs.

    For example if you see a line like this:
    2025-06-01 14:41:32.8618 52644 ESCL POST http://192.168.50.151:8080/eSCL/ScanJobs

    You set:
    IP=192.168.50.151
    Port=8080
    HTTPS=off
